No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy

Review: 3 / 5

No Country For Old Men is significantly less brutal and challenging than Blood Meridian and less emotionally moving than The Road. The writing is still beautiful in many places, and the story is fine. One of the rare cases where I enjoyed the movie (which I rewatched after reading the book) much more than the book. Perhaps this is because the book was originally envisioned as a screenplay. Chigurh is much more menacing on screen than he is on the page, and he is what drives the whole story forward.

The odd complaints of the old sheriff about kids these days with their green hair and access to abortion felt like the author talking to me instead of the character.
